One of the first Co-Hog commissioned sculptures I made was the Brumos Racing Porsche 917-10/007 as raced by Peter Gregg and Hurley Haywood in Can-Am from 1972-1974. It was commissioned by a gentleman in Florida who was well-acquainted with many of the top drivers of the time.
He knows his way around.

The sculpture is about 8" long and was created using jelutong wood with automotive finishes. Wheel rims and tires are turned from maple. Each wheel center is made up of five spokes and an axle piece.

The now iconic Brumos Racing "sweeps" together with number 59 first appeared on the Brumos Porsche in 1972. The Co-Hog 917-10/007 was my first, fairly crude, attempt at creating a team livery.
It was completed in the fall of 1983.

The owner was quite happy with the finished piece and introduced us in turn to many other fine racing folks. He referred to himself as the "Co-Hog Marketing Department - Florida Division".
His efforts were certainly appreciated.
A Polaroid taken during construction is shown with a contemporary New York Times column that included my work.
My rudimentary construction drawings are a result of good reference materials being hard to come by in the days before the internet.
Chassis number 007 is now in the Brumos Collection in Jacksonville, FL. The Porsche 917-10 remains one of many Porsche masterpieces.
